Hi! Welcome to my humble blogabode! I will be your not-so-humble host. My name is Sreesha Divakaran and here’s a little bit about me:
I wrote my first “poem,” when I was seven or eight. I don’t know what motivated me to write it, but I think it was the sudden surprise I felt when I realized that the first two lines rhymed with each other. Similar to the surprise babies feel when they roll over for the first time and wonder how they ended up in that position, staring at the bed or floor instead of the ceiling.
Later on, my writing journey took me from the good books of English teachers, to the vain soul-searching of teenagers, to dealing with some simmering-beneath-the-surface anger – often felt by conspiracy theorists and rockstars (I am, sadly, neither).
It was in 2008 that I was introduced by a friend (and former blogger) to the blogosphere. All the simmering-beneath-the-surface found a way to bubble up to the surface. In retrospect, most of my rants were hilarious, and in embarrassment I took most of them down, when I returned to blogging in 2013, like a phoenix rising from the – oh, who am I kidding! I returned to rant a bit more, and this time, my wrath was mostly invoked by poorly written books. So I began to push my opinions on good literature on people, whereas I mercilessly thrashed garbage parading as literature.
I also blog at Petrichor and Clouds and occasionally write for Women’s Web, Story Mirror, Litagram, Readomania, and Poetry Zoo. All the book reviews I post here are also posted on Goodreads and Amazon. Into travelling? Check out my page on TripAdvisor.
That’s my blog story!
